Rain, Rain, Rain

In these weeks, it has rained mostly every day. What’s happen in climate condition in Hawaii? The sky in Hawaii is crying for my leaving from Hawaii? In Japan, we call it “Tears Rain”. I’m sorry for the tourists who visited Hawaii in these weeks, seeking blue sky and ocean.
But, I can not afford to feel pity for tourists.

One day in this week when I went to Waikiki reef for the usual monitoring, it was very calm day without wind. And I found that dark-colored thin layer spread to some distances from the shore over the horizon. It could be stagnant air pollution from Honolulu area. Although I used to see from the surrounding mountain that city area in Tokyo was covered by such a polluted air, I was shocked that it was same situation in O’ahu, too.
